"Amabie" gained widespread recognition throughout Japan following the COVID-19 pandemic. During the Edo period (1603-1867), Amabie-sama emerged from the sea in Kumamoto and proclaimed, 'If an epidemic spreads, draw an image of me and display it to the people.' In these unprecedented times, Amabie must have brought some solace to people's hearts. The adorable Amabie-sama watches over a rabbit and a frog engaged in a sumo match, an unexpected yet famous combination from the 'Birds and Beasts Caricatures.' We aspire to infuse our daily lives with the protective presence of Amabie-sama. We are delighted to present 'Amabie-sama and Birds, Animals, and Caricatures,' meticulously hand-painted by craftsmen in Kyoto. May Amabie-sama bestow blessings upon you each time you pass through this curtain. The strong and resilient fabric is distinguished by its intricate transparency. Please savor the essence of this natural material.
